RAILWAY
SIGNALING
Drawing a signaling circuit through
software requires the description of the
signaling circuit design to be understood by the
computer. Conventional graphics software do not
consider the simplicity of a relay interlocking
circuit and so drawing circuits using standard
software is quite cumbersome.
One of the major stumbling blocks of
developing a suitable software is the capability
of defining the parameters of importance of a
relay based signaling circuits to the computer
system. One of the method which can be used is to
consider the circuit as built of elements which
matter in the case of a relay based signaling
circuit. Thus while a conventional graphic
software defines a drawing in terms of lines,
rectangles, square and other shapes a Railway
signaling circuit is defined in terms
of elements forming the circuit as front
contact of a relay, back contact, relay block etc.
A railway signaling circuit is a simple
circuit in this respect and requires the use of
very few types of components. This makes drawing
a signaling circuit using computer easy.
